Lyft pendant lamp

A ceiling pendant with a hand blown clear glass lantern containing a four arm brass cross lighting cluster with four solid accrylic rod lights. A modern take on a traditional lantern incorporating both modern and traditional techniques. I know of only 1 person in England who can blow a free from lantern shape to this size with no mould. Each one is slightly different, the imperfection of humanity gives it character.

Lyft is the old English word for light.

A lantern is from the Greek ‘lampein’ meaning to shine which then became ‘lanterna’ in Latin. The modern meaning is a light which is covered but has openings.
